CATRA - CATRA (Cutlery and Allied Trades Research Association) is a research and technology organisation in Sheffield, UK which specialises in knives, cutlery, flatware and tools. It was orginally set up by the British government in 1952 to carry out developments for the UK's cutlery and knife industries.

Butter knife - A butter knife is a flat, metal knife. In common usage, butter knife may refer to any table knife designed with a dull edge and rounded point; formal flatware patterns make a distinction between such a place knife (or table knife) and a butter knife.

Cutlery - Cutlery refers to any hand utensil used in preparing, serving, and especially eating food. It is more usually known as silverware or flatware in the United States, where cutlery can have the more specific meaning of knives and other cutting instruments.
